Submissions
Each year Spectral Sisters highlights Louisiana playwrights and gives them the opportunity to see their original works staged live in our annual Ten-Minute Play Festival. The 2026 festival and playwriting contest theme is “Grace & Wrath" The festival dates will be announced soon. The festival will be produced on the Hearn Stage of the Kress Theater in downtown Alexandria. All original entries must be submitted to our e-mail address admin@spectralsisters.com by 11:59 pm on Sunday, March 15th.

Interested playwrights be on the lookout for one of our playwriting workshops. Our 2024 September workshop with Del Shores was great.
Reading Sessions:
Two reading sessions are held for entries before the submission deadline. These sessions give writers opportunities hear how their plays sound, receive constructive feedback on their work, get an idea of the running times before finalizing their scripts, and ask any questions they might have. Dates for the reading sessions will be announced.
Adjudication
Each entry to the Ten-Minute Play Festival contest is adjudicated by a panel of third party judges on how well it interprets the theme, how closely it adheres to the submission guidelines, and the quality of the writing. In addition to being produced, the top three entries receive a cash prize—First Place $100;Second Place $75; andThird Place $50—as a thank you from us and encouragement to keep on writing!
